Code of Conduct

This professional code of conduct spells out the behavior we support and don’t suport at our conferences and other events. It outlines 21CTIC expectations for all members and participants at our events. 21st Century Teachers International Conference events are designed to help you rethink and improve how you apply modern technology in education by bringing you face-to-face with the knowledge of innovators and practitioners from a very dynamic and innovative perspective.

At 21CTIC we assume that most people are intelligent and well-intended, and we’re not inclined to tell people what to do. However, we want all our events to be a safe and productive environment for everyone. 21CTIC expects its members and event participants to communicate professionally and constructively, whether in person or virtually, handling dissent or disagreement with courtesy, dignity and an open mind, being respectful when providing feedback, and being open to alternate points of view. On public communication channels, 21CTIC expects its members and event participants to share responsibly and clearly distinguish individual opinion from fact.

21CTIC members and event participants are committed to providing a friendly, safe, supportive and harassment-free environment for all members, regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion or other group identity. We are voicing our strong, unequivocal support of appropriate behavior by all participants. We invite you to help us make each event a place that is welcoming and respectful. So that everyone can focus on the learning, and the great networking and community richness that happens when we get together in person or online. To this end, the core of our approach is as follows:

Unacceptable Behaviors

We will not tolerate harassment of participants in any form — in person or online. We don’t condone harassment of members, staff, or other persons involved in our events and activities, or offensive behavior, at our event venues, during online events, or anywhere else. It’s against our company values. More importantly, it’s against our values as human beings. Harassment includes offensive verbal or written comments and negative behavior, either in real or virtual space, including those that are related to or are based upon gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, relation or other group identity. Harassment also includes display of sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, and unwelcome physical contact or sexual attention. Sexual language and imagery are not appropriate for any member venue, including events, talks, workshops, social events and social media, slights and negative messages, both unintended and intentional, based solely on appearance.

Consequences of Unacceptable Behaviors

We expect all members and participants, speakers, corporate partners, and volunteers to follow the Code of Conduct during the event. This includes at any social events at off-site locations, and in related online communities and social media. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.  

If a member or participant at any of our events, in either real or virtual space, violates this Code of Conduct by engaging in inappropriate, harassing, abusive or destructive behavior or language, he/she may be warned, suspended or expelled from membership or event without a refund, and/or banned from future events or other professional learning, at the discretion of 21st Century Learning International.

All members or participants of 21CTIC are expected to observe these rules and behaviors at all our events, including online events and conferences. Please be involved as a member or participant responsibly and with respect for the rights of others.

We encourage members or participants to report any form of harassment. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed or have any other concerns, please call the immediate attention of our event staff, or contact [email protected].
